Alison McTavish (MMus, Perf) is the owner/director of Kanon Artists, administering and advising on the careers of classically-trained musicians since 1994.

Her background as a professional freelance flutist has enhanced an administrative career beginning with a turn at managing New Music Concerts, Robert Aitken’s concert series in Toronto. During her time there, NMC’s unique programs involved bringing composers such as Iannis Xenakis, Elliot Carter and Pierre Boulez to conduct their own works, in an annual 10-concert series held at the Harbourfront Centre. Following a detour to work in Philadelphia for an arts management firm in that city, she returned to Canada to represent and support Canadian performers in all aspects of their careers, from contract negotiations, program consultation, grant applications, to sales and communications with venues, and more.
